Your privacy
Short version: we collect very little, we don’t track you, and only our staff see what you send.
What our forms collect
When you fill out a form, we get only what you type: for example your name, how to reach you, and your message. The shelter form never asks for your Social Security number, date of birth, immigration status, criminal history, drug use, income, or anything about another person who may have hurt you.
Who sees it
Your form is sent by email to our staff, and only our staff read it. We use it to contact you about what you asked for, and for nothing else. We never sell or share it.
What the website keeps
Nothing. The website doesn’t store what you send in a database. It passes it to our staff by email and then forgets it. The website also doesn’t keep logs of what you typed.
No tracking
- No tracking cookies and no ads.
- No analytics scripts follow you around the site.
- No Facebook or Google Maps embeds that watch what you do. Our links to those sites open them separately.
- Our videos are on YouTube. Each one shows a picture first, and nothing loads from YouTube until you tap play. Then the video plays from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced service (youtube-nocookie.com), and YouTube’s own privacy policy applies to it.
Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly check that you’re not a robot. Our web host and Cloudflare keep basic technical records (like your IP address) for security, as all websites do.
The only cookie on this website is a sign-in cookie for our own staff when they update the site at /edit. Visitors never get it.
Using a shared phone or computer?
Your browser may remember the pages you visit. Use a private or incognito window, or clear your history afterward. On our Get Help pages, the “Leave site quickly” button takes you to a weather page right away.
Ask us to delete your information
