Questions
How long can I stay?
Most stays start with a 3-month commitment. We can add more time case by case, usually up to 12 months in all.
Can I bring my children?
Yes. This program is for single parents and their children. When you move in, boys can be up to age 10 and girls up to age 12.
Do I need a job?
Not to move in. But you must be working, able to work, or in school. Once you have a job, rent is never more than 30% of your income. Older adults can work or volunteer.
Is there a background check?
Yes. Before you move in, we check your references and do a criminal background check and a drug test.
Do you take people who need drug or alcohol treatment?
No. We offer housing, not treatment. To find a treatment program, call 2-1-1 Texas by dialing 211.
Can I bring pets?
Please call us to ask about pets.
Is this a domestic violence shelter?
No. We are a housing program, not a domestic violence shelter. If you are leaving an abusive relationship, the National Domestic Violence Hotline can help you find a safe place right away: call 1-800-799-7233 or text START to 88788.
Does it cost anything to apply?
No. Applying is free.

— Single mom, former resident “This place and the workers are truly a blessing. They helped my family and I when we really needed them the most. Thank you for explaining everything and for not judging us.”
— Shared Housing family “This transitional housing agency changed my life when I needed help, and that is exactly what they do. If this non-profit organization cannot assist your family, then they will at least point you in the right direction!”
